Mauro Gasperi

Mauro Gasperi is one of the rising young stars in the fashion industry. He was born and continues to live and work in Brescia, Italy. He studied art at Foppa Liceo Artistico, graduating in 1997, then attended Italy’s famed Polimoda Institute to specialize in fashion.

Mauro was selected as designer for the brand Paola Frani in 2001, as part of a competition organized by Polimida. In 2003, he worked at Dolce & Gabbana in Legnano. Then, in 2007, he founded his namesake brand. Mauro opened his flagship store in Brescia in 2008.

In 2009, Gasperi won the Fashion Incubator competition organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. He was recognized as a New Upcoming Designer at Milan Fashion Week 2009.

Influenced by architecture, Mauro’s contemporary creations incorporate precise lines, diagonal combinations, intersections of geometric shapes, and fluid forms.  His favorite piece to date, is a loose dress, with geometrical design, made of wool net, enriched with raffia details.

Gasperi’s recently unveiled Spring/Summer 2013 collection was well received. It features a nautical flare, with striped garments in shades of coral, orange, blue and green teamed with navy as well as knits in similar colors.

Styling of the Spring/Summer 2013 line is simple and uncomplicated – including dresses and separates such as short flared skirts, hoodies, bloomers, pants, tops, and a button-down long-sleeved nightgown style dress.

Favorites in this collection are the coral and navy blue striped knee-length dress, a navy and white crackerjack style dress and their olive and green striped floor-length dress.
