Kelacala Q
Designer, Lara Kurtzman grew up in New York where she used to go with her mother to the Diamond District on 47th Street. This gave Lara an appreciation for design and motivated her in 1992 to begin making jewelry.
She attended college at the Rhode Island School of Design where she studied with modern masters and artisans. After graduating, she moved back to New York, where she created custom jewelry and accessories for private clients. To extend her design work, Lara founded her jewelry and accessories company, Kelacala Q.
The name Kelacala Q is an acronym, created from the first initials of the first names of Lara, her dad, mom, sister, grandparents and her cat Quincy.
The playful nature of Kelacala Q designs is impressive, but it’s a fanatical approach to custom pairing of jewelry and people that truly sets this company apart. Although unique, these jewelry lines are the epitome of affordable luxury.
